Last night we got the first real snow for the winter. Not just normal snow, but tiny flakes that just seem to crystallise before you very eye. The air was moist earlier in the day, and by night everything was covered in the most beautiful fine crytalline structures. The whole of Lund has been transformed into a crystal pallace, brightened up beyond belief. I just got in from watching the sun setting throught the white trees, the sky has even cleared a bit in the west to make the clouds orange, yellow and pink. Waht a magical experience.

Where is my blogger?
It is December 12, 2002, and I am working at my desk at the MAX-lab at Lund University in Sweden. I have one year down and one to go on my postdoc here in Nuclear Physics. Time is flying bye, people are dashing here and there in a rush before Christmas. I wish to finish writing a piece of software and complete a field map project for one of our groups new magnets, but I too am distracted by many things around me. GoodJet - a discoutn airline we were booked to fly to Stockholm with - just went broke and I had to quickly organise train tickets instead, you know that kind of stuff. I am learning Perl to write my code, that is how I got on to blogging. I went to download some Perl examples and got distracted with the Blogging book from O'Reilly's. It is cold today, -1 or so.
